  1. 1. Considering the WTO is a world-scale organization involving most powerful countries, such as the USA and the European Union in general, with Brazil - a "developing country" - being represented by Azevedo as director-general, it gains much bargain power in the international plane, as well as proving its diplomatical prowess and overall influence. The director-general position, though, is not as important as many might think: all decisions made in the WTO must be made in a consensus among all countries involved, so Azevedo has no decision power per se, his position can only heighten Brazil's ability to pressure other countries and seek its own interests in the organization. It is, anyhow, an influent position and a great step for Brazil, which usually shies away from big positions in international organizations.

  3. 2) The WTO describes itself as "a rules-based, member-driven organization — all decisions are made by the member governments, and the rules are the outcome of negotiations among members".The WTO Agreement foresees votes where consensus cannot be reached, but the practice of consensus dominates the process of decision-making.
Richard Harold Steinberg (2002) argues that although the WTO's consensus governance model provides law-based initial bargaining, trading rounds close through power-based bargaining favouring Europe and the U.S., and may not lead to Pareto improvement.

  4. 2)The WTO has as a main objective to regulate the trade between contries. In addition to establishing rules for trade between countries, creating situations of "good neighborliness" too; this same organization supervises the negotiatons that take place at the global level, such as agreements and treaties.
Another function of the WTO is to create moments that are discussed new forms of trade between countries, so they need make that they won't be affected in yours sovereignties .
The WTO negotiations may influence the extent of countries that establish measures of balance in world trade, creating sanctions on certain countries when their measures aren't met or facilitating trade between the countries, where could have mutual advantage.
Example of action WTO: Doha Round, which has not set their criteria fact still remains in negotiation and promotes more trade liberalization, particularly in agriculture.
So it can be said that the WTO provides a large commercial interaction between countries, creating alternative of trades that require joint actions, taking into account the well being of their populations.
The WTO has a big influence in the negociations around the word because can make a difference in certain agreements that don't make other countries stay better in the world. And help other negociations about particular cases.

  13. 2) How do WTO's decisions and laws/rules interfere in the International Business negotiations?

-The WTO regulates big and small negotiations between countries as the WTO is pretty much saying a 'neutral judge', WTO has the job to organize the world negotiations and make sure that a country isn't taking advantage of the other because the WTO is the World Trade Organisation and they want fair rights in the world trade market for all countries, and also they have laws and rules which helps developing countries in trades and say that these developing countries have to be literally speaking 'treated especially' , and they do this by making the country in which is trading or selling/buying from this developing country to lower the taxes and other kinds of extra rates.

Azevedo's victory is a recognition of the Importance of Brazil in the international arena. In his opinion, the choice demonstrates the confidence and the international prestige of the time passing by Brazil. The Director of the WTO, Azevêdo can't direct their actions to a single country, but may offer suggestions related to themes, but never specific countries.

    1) What's The Importance of Azevêdo Brazil is being appointed Director-General of WTO?
Natural consequence of the growing Latin American participation in international trade and multilateral negotiations,
"It's not about the system (multilateral trade) gave to Latin America, but from that Latin America has the system"
      (Roberto Azevedo)
emphasized Brazil's ambassador to the WTO in Geneva.
    Fighting protectionism.
Goal of seeking solutions and move forward said, unlocking the Doha Round.
These trade talks are stalled since 2008, by failing attempts to find a way to converge the interests of different groups of countries in the process: liberalization of agriculture, industry and services.
We can see that with the inauguration of the new Director General (WTO) in economic vision would be possible some of the key business objectives of Brazil, as the end of agricultural subsidies that distort prices and give unfair advantage to dairy products like Europeans.
Brazil and other agricultural exporters have, as one of the main targets in Bali, an agreement to regulate the import quotas, today protectionist countries grant quotas but make his administration so difficult that many exporters have difficulties to take advantage of them.
Azevedo as director general of the WTO and Brazil as interested in the success of the Bali conference, is the proposal of a "strategic partner" of Brazil, India, with 32 other food-importing countries, who want more freedom in making grants to their farmers, to tackle outbreaks of food shortages. Brazil benefits from the power of the WTO to adjudicate trade disputes, as the case won by the Brazilians against subsidies to cotton farmers in the U.S..

  22. 1) What's the importance for Brazil of Azevêdo being appointed Director-General of WTO?

The importance for Brazil due to the most developing countries are at a stage of trade liberalization closer to that of Brazil than of Mexico and more developing countries will trust Brazil. His diplomatic relations will contribute to greater multilateralism in trade relations between the countries, mainly to Brazil. The goal of the multilateral agreement requires full consensus among the member countries in a situation of enormous mismatch of interests: the emerging countries want free traffic for their commodities and the end of agricultural subsidies in rich countries want industrialized nations to barriers to export their products and nobody is in a position to impose its will. Azevedo will have a crucial role in the WTO.
